The U. S. Army Cadet Corps (USAC) traces its lineage to 1909 when a high-adventure Cadet program was developed to provide new opportunities for young men and women in New York City. In 1997, the USAC began a nationwide expansion program and now has select units across the country. But, most young people do not have a unit nearby, or just want to experience USAC's superior summer training without a commitment during the year. So, USAC opened up its training programs as our Military Adventure Camp so young people from not only across the nation but through-out the world can participate. We have had 1000s of young people attend our camps for all over the United States and from 9+ countries.
USAC is run by a dedicated group of adults, most of whom are currently serving in America's Armed Forces or are veterans. Any adult who wishes to become a member of USAC goes through an extensive background check, and regardless of past experience, they go through our own training programs to ensure that they are the type of people who should be interacting with young people.
USAC provides a hands-on understanding of the mission and importance of our Armed Forces to young men and women ages 13 - 18 (some waivers granted to motivated 12 year olds). All recruits and cadets wear the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) the same uniform worn by today's U.S. Army. Nowhere else can a young person take part in training of this quality!
Cadet Testimonial:
"I would like to thank you for the experience the USAC gave me this summer. Basic Cadet Training not only molded me into a Cadet, but it taught me a lot about myself. [...] The training I got was absolutely incredible and the sense of honor and pride will last forever. [...] The USAC has strengthened my passion for the military and I can't wait for my future in the Army. Again, I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful summer. The importance of national pride, service to others, and maintaining a drug-free and gang-free lifestyle is what I live by now.
Parent Testimonial:
"My husband and I are amazed at the transformation you have made in our son. He left home lazy, unmotivated, he lacked self-confidence and really was a loner and had no clue where to go with his life and he really could care less about school. To be honest we really wondered what direction our son was headed. Then he decided that he wanted to give Military Adventure Camp a try. As a parent (an over protective parent) I was nervous about sending my son so far away from home, but when his 4 weeks where up at camp I was never so proud of an organization and of my son. When we saw our son march in for the graduation ceremony we wanted to run to him and hug him. He looked different; he held his head high, he lost weight and he showed pride in what he was doing. Our biggest concern was getting him through school with a diploma and now we have no worries at all. He brought home his first A+ in Math the other day. I believe in all my heart all of this has occurred because of Military Adventure Camp. Thank you for everything you have done for our son. We love you from the bottom of our hearts. Your family is our family, we look forward to seeing you next year."
